The Education Outreach team at the Tennessee State Library and Archives is here to help educators make history alive in the classroom! The Library & Archives is a great resource for educators and students seeking primary sources for use in the classroom. With extensive holdings in Tennessee, Southern, and regional history, the Library & Archives is also the official repository for the permanent records of the State of Tennessee.

Primary Sources such as newspaper records, historic photographs, letters, diaries, maps, political cartoons, broadsides, census records, Governors’ papers, and more are available to the public at the Library & Archives. Educators and students are welcome to utilize our website or visit us in person to access these primary source materials.

We are pleased to introduce our holdings to a new audience of educators and students! To learn more about education outreach at the Tennessee State Library and Archives, visit our website.
